I am inspired by the challenge of creating an atmosphere through painting that compliments the space which reflects and enhances the lives of the people that live and work there.
Many of the projects I do are commissions for individuals and institutions, both public and private. Whether I am making a large scale exterior mural for an organization or designing an interior wall faux finish for a client or sketching illustrations for a publication, I find artistic work within the boundaries of collective purpose to be very exciting.
The creation of my work comes from within and the colors and their nuances are an invitation to discover a world I carry inside me. My paintings reflect my view of nature. They are expressions of my own enjoyment of what is visual and tactile. I represent this through my choice of media and its inherent qualities. To me, this celebrates the flexibility, spontaneity and durability I appreciate in nature. My work ranges from figurative, floral and abstract expressions in paintings to multimedia illustrations of whimsical portraits. And into the realms of realistic depictions of architecture to landscapes in murals and the gentle textures captured by faux finishes. The beauty found in thier color, pattern and texture is an endless discovery within my work. As an inspired colorist, I offer intimate and personal works, which take you on a voyage with expression of colors, forms and concepts.
